Switch between companies and set the working date range before you post entries or run reports.

Why this matters

Every voucher is saved in the active company, and every report uses the active period. Check both before you start entering data, so entries land in the right books and reports show the right months.

Switch company or financial year

  1. Press F3 anywhere, or click the company name in the top bar of the Gateway.
  2. The Select Company / Financial Year window lists each company with its books period (for example 01-Apr-2026 to 31-Mar-2027), financial year and status.
  3. Click the company you want. The name and year badge in the top bar confirm the switch.

Change the working period

  1. Press Alt+F2 on the Gateway, or click the From and To date boxes in the top bar.
  2. Set the range you want to work in, for example 01-Apr-2026 to 31-Mar-2027 for the full year, or a single month before filing GST.
  3. The Business Flash Report, Recent Transactions and the reports you open next use this range.

Inside a report such as the Day Book, Ledger or Profit & Loss, press F2 to change the period for that report only.

Where the books dates come from

The financial year title, Books Start Date, Books End Date and the Books Freeze / Lock Date are set in Configuration (F12). The Indian financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March.

If a voucher refuses to save on a date, check two things: the date must fall inside the books period, and it must be after the lock date (unless back-dated vouchers are allowed in Configuration).
