Stock groups (V)

Stock groups organise items by category or product line, so you can filter Inventory Items by group and see the value tied up in each.

  1. Press V on the Gateway or go to Masters Setup → Stock Groups. The Hierarchy panel lists existing groups.
  2. Click Create Group, enter the Name (for example Door Handles or Raw Material) and choose Under (Parent Group), or leave it at Primary (top level).
  3. Click Save Group.

Units of measure (Q)

Units must use the GST UQC symbols because GSTR-1's HSN Summary reports quantity by UQC.

  1. Press Q on the Gateway or go to Masters Setup → Units of Measure. Click Create Unit.
  2. Symbol (UQC): search the GST standard list and pick one, for example BAG, BOX, BTL, KGS, LTR, MTR, NOS, PCS or SET. The symbol is always 3 characters.
  3. Decimal Places: 3 for weights and volumes (KGS, LTR), 0 for countable units (BOX, PCS).
  4. Formal Name fills in from the symbol; it must be unique.
  5. Press Alt+S or click Save Unit. Reset Form (Alt+N) clears it; Cancel (Esc) closes.

Alternate units

If you buy in one unit and sell in another (buy in BOX, sell in PCS), set both on the stock item with a Conversion Factor. Stock is tracked in the primary unit.

Create units before items. An item's unit cannot be a free-text value; it must come from this list.
