4 sections 5 steps F6RF2

Open the screen

Press F6 anywhere, press R on the Gateway, or click Receipt in the quick bar. Press F2 to change the Date.

Steps

  1. Account (Debit): choose where the money came in, for example Cash A/c or your bank ledger. Its current Balance shows under it.
  2. Under Particulars (Credit), pick the customer who paid, or an income ledger such as Interest Received.
  3. Enter the Reference No. (cheque number or UTR) and the Amount (₹). Click Add Line if several customers paid into the same account.
  4. Add a Narration, or click Auto-Write for an AI-drafted one.
  5. Check Total Receipt and click Save Entry.

Compliance check while you type

The Atulya Intelligence banner watches each receipt for Section 269ST: you cannot receive ₹2,00,000 or more in cash from one person in a day, for one transaction, or for one event. Take such amounts by bank.

Where it shows up

The customer's balance under Sundry Debtors drops immediately. The receipt appears in the Day Book, the Cash & Bank Book, the customer's ledger and, for bank receipts, in Bank Reco until you enter the bank date.

Received an advance before raising the invoice? Record it as a receipt against the customer now; the invoice later adjusts the balance.
